SUMMARY:At the Crossroads: Annual Report and Convening on the State of Canada’s Cities
DESCRIPTION:Canada has led before\, regularly topping the global city lists for livability and vibrancy\, but to hold our own we need to demonstrate bold leadership with a clear vision\, which today’s political discourse makes challenging. Our city building community is a diverse one\, with highly accomplished urban planning and design professionals\, for profit and not-for-profit real estate development sectors\, corporate business leaders and institutional investors\, rigorous academics evaluating progress (or not)\, and community-based practitioners working on all aspects of urban resilience. \nTogether\, we need a common path. \nJoin the Canadian Urban Institute for this report launch and convening in Ottawa\, where we will help chart the next steps for urban Canada. \nRegister here!

SUMMARY:Livable Cities Forum: From Intention to Implementation
DESCRIPTION:Most Canadian cities and towns were not built with a vision of a net zero\, resilient\, and sustainable future. So what does the transition to resilient\, equitable\, and livable communities look like? How can we embrace diversity and inclusion in the process? And\, ultimately\, how can we accelerate implementation to keep pace with challenges municipalities face? \nJoin ICLEI Canada from September 25 to 27 for the 2023 Livable Cities Forum (LCF) to explore these questions through the lens of “Intention to Implementation”. \nLearn more and register here!

SUMMARY:RECONNECT 2023: Community Foundations Conference
DESCRIPTION:As communities recover from the pandemic\, our networks need a space to heal and reconnect. The 2023 community foundations conference will provide our network that opportunity. We will gather in Tkaronto | Toronto from June 1-3\, 2023 with a pre-conference day on May 31 – to meet old friends\, make new ones\, and reconnect to our purpose. There will also be a suite of pre-conference virtual connection opportunities leading up to our in-person gathering. \nThis will complement the in-person sessions and be an opportunity for those unable to gather in Tkaronto | Toronto to be a part of RECONNECT 2023. \nThroughout RECONNECT 2023\, we will: \n\nRenew our connections with each other;\nRethink some of our long-held assumptions\, and;\nReimagine the potential and opportunities that we have in philanthropy.\n\nWe’re getting excited and we hope you are too! It’s less than a year away and there are so many new members of the community foundation network that we’ve not yet had the chance to meet in person. The conference is an opportunity for community foundations to connect with each other\, partners and members of the nonprofit community. \nLearn more and follow updates here! \n
