SUMMARY:Peer-to-Peer Learning - Digital Tools to Improve Internal Processes: Internal Communications and Task Management
DESCRIPTION:On the 19th of October at 1:00 PM ET/ 10:00 AM PT\,  HCI will be hosting a small group workshop continuing with the theme of Digital Tools for Improving Internal Processes. This session specifically looks at Internal Communications and Task Management. \nThe session will be led by Alejandro Mayoral from the Indigenous Friends Association. Their project\, Digital Determination: COVID19 Indigenous Mental Health Project\, is aimed at increasing the capacity of the Indigenous Friends app to support the mental health of Indigenous youth and communities needing additional care as a result of COVID-19.  \nThe purpose of this session is to build upon your hands-on experience using digital tools with the goal of discovering different and innovative ways in which they can be used to support internal processes.  Alejandro will facilitate an exchange of ideas between participants\, all of whom are also Healthy Community Initiative projects.  \nThis session won’t be theoretical (there are too many excellent tutorials out there already!) but rather\, a space to exchange questions and experiences. DESCRIPTION:This summer\, we are so excited to be working with mosaic artist\, Shylene Schlackl to put on a weekly mosaic making workshop at Royal Athletic Park.\n\nEach week\, you are invited to drop by the park\, spend some time learning how to make mosaics\, and contribute to a collaborative community art project. Together\, we will make unique mosaic birds that will be installed throughout the North Park neighbourhood over the coming years.\n\nLocation: Royal Athletic Park (1014 Caledonia Ave)\n Date: July 4\, July 11\, July 18\, July 25\, August 8\, August 15 (dependent on Harbourcats playoffs)\, August 22.\n Time: 5:30-7:30pm\n\nShylene started “Mosaic the City” (http://www.thecups.org/mosaic-the-city/) in 2003\, which means this incredible project will soon be celebrating it’s 20th birthday! Mosaic the City aims to bring people together to learn about each other while sharing in the creation of a unique mosaic art piece. Each project is community inspired\, community designed and community built by the people who live\, work\, learn or shop in a neighbourhood.\n\nMosaic making requires the handling and working with cut glass and tile. For this reason\, there will be a “Mosaic Team” of trained volunteers on hand to help Shylene make sure everyone is handling materials safely while still having fun.\n\nKids are welcome to participate\, but do require caregiver participation! We will also have craft materials on site for younger kiddos who might not be ready for mosaic making quite yet.\n– Each workshop will have a 25 person limit.\n– No registration is required.\n– Participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to joining in.

Each summer’s Pageant features giant puppets\, stilt-walkers\, musicians and performers of all ages.  The Pageant celebrates a vital Island community and the river that has defined and sustained it for over 200 years; promoting values of environmental stewardship\, civic practice\, and artistic bravery. \nAll are welcome to take part as performers\, workshop participants and volunteers. \nThe River Clyde Pageant was founded in 2015 by Ker Wells and Megan Stewart.\nIt is a production of the Cooking Fire Theatre Festival.
