Black physical mobility in the US lead to adverse social\, political\, economic\, and health outcomes that are intergenerational and widespread. \nThis presentation will surgically examine the ways in which our approaches to research\, planning\, policy\, and design can and must be reimagined to achieve greater mobility\, health\, and safety for Black Americans. \n– \nBio: \nCharles T. Brown is the founder and principal of Equitable Cities\, a minority- and veteran-owned urban planning\, public policy and research firm focused at the intersection of transportation\, health and equity. He is also an adjunct professor at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. DESCRIPTION:On the 3rd of November 2022\,  HCI is hosting a peer-learning session to collectively reflect on the role of evaluation and how evaluation can be connected to the organization needs and the work that is happening on the ground.  This participatory space will be hosted by Yonatan Ghebray from NABC. \nThe gathering builds on to the Mobilizer Session ‘Bringing evaluation back to the core’\, and will provide an opportunity to continue exploring with a reduced group of peers some of the key ideas\, processes and concepts shared on the webinar.  It will be an opportunity for projects to  build on each others’ experiences and to offer mutual support. Furthermore\, the group of peers will meet again after a couple of weeks with the purpose of continuing to build the relationship with the group. DESCRIPTION:The annual National Trust Conference is Canada’s largest heritage learning and networking event. Held every year since 1974\, the National Trust Conference brings together a wide-range of people working to keep Canada’s heritage alive: from grassroots activists and elected officials\, to professionals\, planners\, policy makers\, and property owners. Conference themes have tackled pressing issues for Canada’s heritage movement\, including community revitalization\, heritage tourism\, sustainable development\, and climate change. \nToronto\, Ontario: October 20 – 22\, 2022\nSeismic societal shifts exacerbated by a global pandemic have drawn into question many values\, structures\, and public policies in Canada\, including those guiding heritage conservation. As the urgency increases to advance decolonization and anti-racism\, take bold climate action\, and redress economic and social inequity\, are heritage principles and heritage places in step\, or stuck in the past? Now is the time for realignment and concerted action.
