Black Software présente l'histoire des origines de la technologie informatique au milieu des confrontations raciales turbulentes des années 1960, en la reliant à l'essor de l'internet noir qui a contribué à la naissance de l'internet tel que nous le connaissons à la fin des années 1980 et dans les années 1990.

\n

Avec The Franklin Lecture, M. McIlwain offre l'occasion de rassembler les principaux enseignements du livre et des arguments qui n'y sont pas présentés, mais qui relient néanmoins le passé de la technologie informatique à la perspective de notre volonté et de notre capacité futures de mettre la technologie au service de l'équité et des opportunités raciales.
