This Mobilizer session from Canada’s Placemaking Community, explores the role that community-led spaces play in enabling youth to thrive through programming and activities that enhance social connections and healthy relationships. Hosted by Lanrick Bennett, Executive Director of Charlie’s Freewheels, this session will be an opportunity to learn about how youth initiatives provide mentorship opportunities, systems navigation, space for exploring identities, and community building.
Together with Lanrick, Chris Crooks from Cambridge Bay Wrestling Club, Stacie Smith from Young Canadians Roundtable and Robyn Dalton from LOVE (Quebec) will share their stories and discuss their experiences in creating spaces for youth to thrive.

Canada’s Placemaking Community builds capacity for national placemakers by sharing impactful stories, convening in-person and virtual events, and commissioning research. By fostering collective action, we aim to drive better public outcomes and create vibrant, equitable public spaces for all.
