Medellín Case Study: Architecture, Urbanism and Planning. Guest: Prof. Jorge Perez, former chief planner.
From being known as the ‘world’s drug capital’ to become a model for innovative equitable urbanism. Jorge will share reflections on the evolution of Medellín as a city, starting from its extreme crisis in the 1990s, and how it built a democratic and technical process in which the city was constructed as a scene for public life. Multi-scale planning, urban projects, large infrastructures, urban acupuncture, and social urbanism, among other aspects, will be part of the contents of the session.
