Join Placemaking Canada for a cross-country check-in on placemaking and public space.
What’s going on across Canada? Share your placemaking story, or attend the session and learn about key public space aspirations, projects, and initiatives for 2023.
Placemaking is all about transforming public spaces – our plazas, parks, streets and civic buildings – into vibrant, people-friendly places. There is a lot of exciting placemaking work taking place across Canada, and all sorts of creative folks working to enliven their communities.
Our February ‘open mic’ event is a chance to check-in and hear from placemakers and public space advocates from across the country. The event will include a few updates on Placemaking Canada (including some exciting ideas for the coming year)… and then it’s over to our open mic presenters to share the latest and greatest on placemaking activities taking place across the country.

A FEW NOTES FOR POTENTIAL PRESENTERS
Each speaker will have up to five minutes to share their placemaking aspiration or initiative. You can screen share pictures or powerpoint slides if you like – but these aren’t required.
ABOUT THE AGENDA
Our aim is to offer a cross-section of initiatives from across the country, and to help amplify community-based public space initiatives. We will do our best to accommodate as many presenters as possible, but we reserve the right to curate the final presenters list in order to create a balanced, inclusive event.
The event will take place in English. Closed captioning will be available via Zoom real time transcriptions.
